San Beef Japanese Restaurant — Taipei

台北 三牛日本料理 is one of Taipei's top 10 high-end Japanese restaurants, a decades-old establishment. I hadn't been here in years, but Chef Wenzheng is as impressive as ever. I sat at the counter again with a budget of two to three thousand for omakase, plus two bottles of Argentine red wine. They had just received a large wild red snapper today—we enjoyed red snapper, toro, scallops, mullet roe, grilled collar... all very fresh ingredients, ending with a nourishing soup. There's an elderly couple in their eighties who come every night, and I saw them again today. Time really flies, reminding me of memories from 2013 and 2014...
