Originally wanted to book André Chiang's Raw, but it was only open the next evening. Called Bencotto, the Italian restaurant at Mandarin Oriental, but it was fully booked. After a moment's thought, I didn't even bother checking with Shoun Ryu Gin and just booked Ruth's Chris in the same Heshmeng building as Raw—since the chance of getting a table here was definitely the highest. Compared to the Minsheng East Road branch, the Dazhi flagship feels much quieter, but they've put more effort into the decor, with a darker, more沉稳 color scheme. Right past the entrance...
